Do this at the drop-off of every ride.
Before you start. The car has stopped at the drop-off and the rider has everything they brought. Fares are cashless: the rider pays by card, MMG or a corporate account through the app. Never take cash for a fare.
Steps
- Tap Complete on the ride screen.
- Check the fare shown. It is the booked fare plus any adjustment made during the ride.
- Wait for Paid to appear. The rider's saved payment method is charged by the platform.
- Add anything the ride earned that is not in the fare: tap Add a charge, pick the item from the published catalogue, enter the amount and say why. The desk approves it before it reaches the fare.
- Check the back seat and the boot before you drive off.
- Tap Done to return to Home. You are still online and may receive the next offer.
What happens next
The rider receives a receipt by email. The fare belongs to you. GuyWay collects it as your payment agent, deducts the published charges, and shows the ride on your monthly statement.
Tips go to you in full. A rider can add a tip in the app for up to 30 days after the ride, or hand you cash. A tip added in the app appears on the completion screen and on your statement at 100 percent. A cash tip is yours on the spot and never appears on the statement, which is why the app never asks you to enter one.
If something goes wrong
| Problem | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The fare stays at Pending | The rider's card was declined or the MMG payment timed out | Complete the ride anyway. The platform retries, and ops chases the rider. The fare still reaches your statement once paid |
| The rider offers cash for the fare | Habit | Decline politely. Explain that fares are cashless and that cash is only for tips |
| The fare looks wrong | An adjustment was missed, or a stop was not recorded | Do not argue at the kerb. Note the ride number and raise it on WhatsApp +592 655-7775 or support@guyway.gy |
| Complete is greyed out | The trip was never started | Tap Start trip first, then Complete |
Warning a fare taken in cash is a fare outside the platform and a breach of the platform agreement.
