Airport taxi pricing in Guyana has historically been opaque: a number negotiated at the terminal curb, often quoted higher to visitors, and subject to an unofficial "after 10 PM" bump. GuyWay replaces that with a fixed fare shown in the app before you tap Confirm, the same at 3 AM as at 3 PM.
The Airport Ride rate card is simple: GY$18,000 covers the first 34 km from CJIA, then GY$360 for each additional km. Central Georgetown is about 41 km, so a Kingston or Queenstown hotel lands a little above the base; Providence and the Ramada, at 20 km, sit inside it; the Grand Coastal at Le Ressouvenir, 45 km out on the East Coast, sits a little higher. Ogle airport and every in-city trip use the City Ride card instead (GY$2,000 for the first 3 km, GY$375 per km after). The fare you see is the fare you pay, unless you add a stop, change the destination, keep the driver waiting, or a toll or bridge fee applies. Those are added at cost, no mark-up. No airport-access fee, no card surcharge, and nothing to hand the driver: payment is in the app by Visa, Mastercard, MMG, Apple Pay, Google Pay or GuyWay promo credit, with a receipt emailed after the trip. Schedule the pickup in the app with your flight number: if the flight runs late the pickup is re-timed at no charge, and a scheduled ride can be edited or cancelled in the app.

Frequently asked
How much does a taxi from CJIA to Georgetown cost?
About GY$20,150 to central Georgetown on the Airport Ride rate card, fixed in the app before you confirm. No surge, no haggling, no night premium. The only additions are a stop or destination change you ask for, or a toll or bridge fee, added at cost.
How does GuyWay compare with a terminal taxi?
A terminal taxi quotes a price at the curb, and it can change with the hour and with the passenger. GuyWay shows one fixed Airport Ride fare in the app before you book, the car is an all-electric Tesla, and the driver has passed a licence and police-clearance check. Compare the fare on your screen with the quote at the rank and choose.
What about tolls, bridge fees and tips?
The fare you see is the fare you pay, unless you add a stop, change the destination, keep the driver waiting, or a toll or bridge fee applies. Those are added at cost, no mark-up. Tips are optional, given in the app for up to 30 days after the trip or in cash to the driver, and go 100% to the driver.
