A Letter from Our CEO | Co-Founder

"Guyana deserves a transportation platform that reflects the ambition of its future - safe, reliable, modern, and built with pride."

March 2026

Movement has always shaped my life.

Long before GuyWay became a company, movement shaped my family's story. My parents, like many Guyanese of their generation, were part of the mass emigration from Guyana during a time when opportunity was limited and difficult choices had to be made for the future of a family. Leaving home was not simply a matter of geography. It was an act of sacrifice, resilience, and hope. It was driven by the belief that one day the next generation might be able to return and contribute something meaningful to the country that shaped them.

That belief stayed with me.

Years later, one of the most important moves of my own life brought me to the United Kingdom, where I met my co-founders at business school. We spent our time thinking deeply about transformation, leadership, and the role business can play in building stronger societies. Those conversations challenged me to think not only about growth, but about impact. I found myself returning again and again to Guyana.

At the same time, Guyana was entering a remarkable new era. The country was growing rapidly and stepping onto the global stage with renewed confidence and visibility. There was momentum, ambition, and a clear sense of possibility. But real transformation is not measured only in headlines, investment figures, or GDP growth. It is measured in the quality of everyday life. It is measured in whether people can feel progress in the systems they rely on every day.

Transportation sits at the center of that experience.

How people get to work matters. How families move safely through the city matters. How visitors experience a country from the moment they arrive matters. Mobility is not just about convenience. It shapes access, trust, productivity, and confidence in a growing economy.

That is where GuyWay began.

GuyWay was born from a simple but powerful belief. Guyana deserves a transportation platform that reflects the ambition of its future. It should be safe, reliable, modern, and built with pride. It should raise the standard of service while staying deeply connected to the needs of the people and communities it serves.

From the beginning, we set out to build more than a ride-hailing business. We wanted to create a platform with purpose. One designed through a local lens and held to a global standard. That meant understanding the realities of Guyanese communities, roads, businesses, and travelers. It meant thinking carefully about trust, safety, convenience, and quality. It meant building a service that feels distinctly local, yet clearly forward-looking.

It also meant building responsibly. Guyana stands in a rare position as a country experiencing rapid development while still holding immense natural beauty and an opportunity to grow in a more sustainable way. We believe transportation should be part of that future. For GuyWay, electric mobility is not simply about technology. It is about helping build cleaner, smarter systems that match where Guyana is going.

Choosing to build at home was not the easiest path, but it felt like the right one. There are rare moments when you can help shape the standard of what comes next in a country on the rise. GuyWay is our answer to that moment.

We are building with ambition, humility, and conviction. Our goal is not simply to move people from one place to another. It is to help move Guyana forward with greater confidence, stronger systems, and a clearer vision of what modern mobility can look like in the Caribbean.

This is only the beginning, and we are honored to be building it.
