Fares explained

The City Ride and Airport Ride rate cards, what is included, what can change a fare after the ride, and why there is never a surge.

Updated
24 September 2026

Every ride has a fixed fare shown in the app before you confirm. GuyWay has two rate cards and no others. Nothing changes with the hour, the weather or demand. The driver cannot ask for more.

Where you find it

The fare appears on the booking screen under the vehicle type, once the pickup and the destination are set. After the ride it appears on the ride screen and on the emailed receipt, with any adjustment on its own line.

What can change the fare after the ride

Section 5 of the rider terms allows an adjustment only in these cases.

CaseWhat changes
You change the drop-offDistance and time are recalculated on the same rate card
You add a stopDistance and time are recalculated, and waiting at the stop may be charged
A significant detour you asked forDistance is recalculated
Extended waiting caused by youWaiting time is charged
A toll or bridge fee on the routeThe fee is added at cost

A cancellation fee of GYD 300, a no-show fee of GYD 500 and a cleaning or damage fee are separate charges, not fare adjustments. A fee from an earlier ride is added to a later fare and named on the screen before you pay it. See Cancellation and no-show fees and Cleaning and damage fees.

Note The fare belongs to the driver. GuyWay collects it as the driver's payment agent and deducts its published charges. This is why cash cannot be taken and why every fare is on a receipt.
