The pickup PIN is a short code the app gives you for each ride. The driver enters it before the ride starts. It proves that you are getting into the car booked for you, and that the driver is the one GuyWay sent.
Where you find it
The PIN appears on the ride screen as soon as a driver accepts, next to the driver's name, the car and the plate. When you booked for someone else, the PIN is sent to the number you entered for them.
Elements
| Element | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Driver name and photo | Who is coming |
| Car and plate | The Tesla Model 3 to look for |
| Pickup PIN | The code to give the driver |
| ETA | When the car is expected at the pickup |
How it is used
| Step | Who | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Driver | Arrives and taps Arrived. The app tells you the car is there |
| 2 | Rider | Checks the plate against the app, then reads the PIN to the driver |
| 3 | Driver | Enters the PIN. A wrong PIN is refused |
| 4 | Both | The ride starts, and the trip is recorded from that moment |
Rules that apply
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Never get in without a match | If the plate or the driver does not match the app, do not get in |
| The PIN is for this ride only | A new ride gets a new PIN |
| The driver never asks for it by phone | The PIN is given in person at the car |
| No PIN, no ride | A driver cannot start the trip without it. Check with GuyWay operations for how many attempts the driver app allows |
Warning Anyone who offers you a ride without asking for the PIN is not driving for GuyWay on that ride. Report it on WhatsApp at +592 655-7775.
