Do this at the end of every slot, at the hub, 2874 Greenfield, Providence.
Before you start. Home tells you when to leave: "Head back by" and a time, worked out from the drive to the hub plus 10 minutes to hand in. See Head back to the hub for rides on the way back.
Steps
- Drive to the hub and park at a free charger.
- Plug in the cable.
- Remove your belongings and any rubbish. Check the back seat and the boot for anything a rider left.
- Go offline: on Home, press and hold the stop button that replaces GO for one second. You cannot go offline while you hold a ride that has not started.
- Tap Hand the car back on Home, or on Your EV under the Account tab.
- Take the six photos: front, left side, back, right side, inside and the screen with the charge and the odometer. If the app asks, add a photo of the cable in the charge port.
- Mark any new damage on the photo and say what it is.
- Tap Send to the desk.
- Leave the key card where the desk asks.
What happens next
The app says: "Sent. The car is back in the hub record." From that moment, km and charges on the car are no longer attributed to you. Damage you marked goes on the car's record, so the next driver sees it before taking the car.
If you do not go offline yourself, the app takes you offline 30 minutes after your slot ends, unless you are on a ride.
A late return is a matter for the Vehicle Rental Agreement and your Schedule 1. Check with GuyWay operations for any late return charge.
If something goes wrong
| Problem | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot reach the hub before the slot ends | Traffic, or a long last ride | Send a WhatsApp message to +592 655-7775 before the slot ends |
| Hand the car back does not show | The car was never signed out to you at the hub, or the hand back was already sent | Ask the desk to check the car's record |
| "No signal" while sending | No mobile data at the hub | Move nearer the office and send again |
| Damage you did not cause is found | It happened before your slot | Point the desk to the photos of your walk round at collection |
Warning a car not returned when required may receive a 48-hour notice and then be immobilised under clause 6.3 of the Vehicle Rental Agreement. See When a car can be immobilised.
