Personal use of the car

The km allowance for use outside rides, what falls outside it, and what shows on the statement.

Updated
12 September 2026

The rental agreement lets you use the car outside platform rides within a bounded allowance. The allowance is a number of km per slot. Every km the car drives is read from the car, so the allowance is measured, not estimated.

Where you find it

In GuyWay Driver, open Statement and tap the month. The line Personal use shows the km used against the allowance. The team sees the same figure on the operations console, under the driver's month.

Elements

ElementWhat it shows
Km driven on ridesKm between accepting a ride and completing it
Km driven outside ridesEvery other km while you hold the car, including the drive to and from the hub

Rules that apply

RuleDetail
No riders outside the platformCarrying a rider for money outside the platform is a breach of both agreements, and GuyWay recovers the commission it would have collected
The car stays in service areaDo not take the car outside the area GuyWay serves without asking ops first
Livery stays onThe GuyWay livery is never removed or covered
ChargingCharge at the hub. Charging elsewhere is at your cost unless ops agreed
Km readingThe odometer is read from the car when you collect it and when you return it
StatementKm over the allowance appear as one line on the monthly statement with the rate and the total

How the figure is worked out

StepDetail
1Total km on the car during your slot, from the odometer
2Less the km of every ride you completed, from the ride records
3Less the allowance for the slots you held
4The remainder, if positive, times the published rate per km

Note the drive between the hub and your first pickup counts as km outside rides. Plan pickups near the hub at the start of a slot when you can.
