Do this at the start of every slot, at the hub, 2874 Greenfield, Providence, East Bank Demerara.
Before you start. Your slot must be booked and your platform access active. Bring your ID card from the brand kit. Arrive at the slot start time; the car is charged to the target for that time.
Steps
- Report to the hub attendant and give your driver ID. The attendant confirms which car is yours.
- Walk around the car and take a photo of each side, the front, the back and the wheels. Take a photo of the interior.
- Open GuyWay Driver, tap Handover and upload the photos. Check with GuyWay operations whether the handover is recorded in the app or by the attendant on the console.
- Read the charge level on the car screen and note it in the handover. A car should leave the hub at or above 80 percent.
- Take your key card. Each car has two cards; you hold the one issued to you. The card opens and starts the car. There is no Tesla account for drivers.
- Check the livery, the tyres and the warning lights. Report any damage or warning light before you drive off.
- Tap Confirm handover.
What happens next
The car is assigned to you on the platform from that moment. Every km and every charge on the car is attributed to you until you return it. Dispatch can offer you rides once you go online.
Damage found at the next handover and not on your photos is yours. Your photos are your protection.
If something goes wrong
| Problem | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The key card does not open the car | Wrong card, or the car is asleep | Hold the card against the pillar for two seconds; ask the attendant if it still does not respond |
| The charge is below the target | The car came back late or was not on the cable | Tell the attendant. The rent is abated if the car is unusable for more than 48 hours through no fault of yours |
| The app will not accept the photos | No signal at the yard | Move nearer the office, or hand the photos to the attendant on WhatsApp |
| The car is not on my slot | Handover recorded against another driver | Ask the attendant to unassign the previous holder first |
Warning never write down the car's PIN to Drive. GuyWay sets it and keeps it. You never need it.
