Do this when you hold a car and want to receive ride offers.
Before you start. You must hold a car on an active slot, your platform access must be active, and the car must have enough charge. The app shows the car and its charge level on Home.
Steps
- Open GuyWay Driver. Check that Home shows your car and its charge.
- Tap Go online. The button turns to Online and the map shows your position.
- Wait for an offer. The offer takes the whole screen and shows a ring counting the seconds you have left, the pickup, how far and how many minutes away it is, the drop-off, the booking type, the fare, your share of it, and how many minutes the trip itself takes.
- Tap Accept to take the ride. Tap Decline to turn it down, then pick a reason: the pickup is too far, not enough charge, you are on a break, you are heading back to the hub, you cannot get there in time, or another reason. Letting the ring run out declines it too.
- Drive to the pickup. Tap Arrived when you are at the pickup point.
- Tap Go offline when you stop taking rides, and before you drive back to the hub.
What happens next
Once you accept, the rider sees your name, the car and the plate, and their free cancellation window of 3 minutes starts. Dispatch will not offer you another ride until this one is completed, cancelled or closed as a no-show.
Dispatch ranks cars by road time to the pickup, then by charge. A car is never offered a ride it cannot finish: the charge must cover the drive to the pickup, the trip and the road back to the hub, with 15 percent kept in reserve. A car on the cable, an immobilised car, or a car that has not reported for 10 minutes is left out.
Declining an offer carries no charge and is never held against you. Which rides you take is your decision.
If something goes wrong
| Problem | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Go online is greyed out | No car assigned, or platform access suspended | Check Home; ask ops on WhatsApp +592 655-7775 |
| No offers for a long time | Low charge, or the car has not reported its position | Check the charge and that the app has location permission; move to a spot with signal |
| The offer disappears before I can accept | Another car accepted first, or the offer timed out | Wait for the next one |
| The app says the car is immobilised | A control action by ops | Call ops. See When a car can be immobilised |
