Do this for a ride to or from Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) at Timehri or Ogle (Eugene F. Correia) Airport. Both are Airport Rides.
Before you start. Have your flight number ready, for example BW 425. Book as a scheduled ride so a car is planned for your flight. The Airport Ride fare is GYD 18,000, which includes the first 34 km, then GYD 360 per additional km. There is no surcharge for the time of day.
Steps
- Open the app and tap Where to?.
- Enter Cheddi Jagan International Airport as the pickup or the destination.
- Enter the number of riders and bags under Ride details. A Model 3 takes up to four riders.
- Tap Get a price and read the Airport Ride fare.
- Tap Schedule for later and set the date and time.
- Enter your Flight number, for example BW 425. The field appears only on a ride to or from the airport.
- Tap Schedule this ride.
What happens next
The app watches the flight you entered and moves your pickup with it, at no charge, in both directions. A late flight pushes the pickup back. An early flight pulls it forward, including when the aircraft is already on the ground before we look, which is the case most apps ignore. Your pickup is set to the arrival plus 45 minutes for immigration, the belt and customs.
Your driver is sent 75 minutes before the pickup, because the drive out to Timehri is most of an hour. If no driver has taken your ride 45 minutes before the pickup, we tell you and the desk works on it, rather than leaving you to find out at the kerb.
For a ride to the airport the flight is watched and shown to the desk, and the pickup is never moved automatically: check-in and bag drop do not move with the aircraft, and a car sent late could make you miss it. If your outbound flight moves, change the time yourself under Upcoming or message the desk.
At CJIA the driver meets you at the terminal entrance. There is only one entrance and no GuyWay desk or counter. The app shows the driver's name, the car and the plate, so you can find each other, and the ride screen repeats where to stand. Give the driver your pickup PIN before the ride starts.
Your driver waits 30 minutes at the airport and there is no charge for waiting, against 5 minutes for a pickup in the street. With the 45 minutes already built into your pickup time, that is 75 minutes from touchdown. Answer the driver's message if you are held up, even to say you need ten more minutes.
For a ride to the airport, the driver drops you at the terminal entrance. Allow time for the road from Georgetown; the app shows the estimated duration when you book.
Note The fare covers the drive. A toll or bridge fee on the route is added at cost, with no mark-up.
If something goes wrong
| Problem | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The flight number is refused | Wrong format | Type the airline code and the number, for example CJ 1234 or BW 425 |
| I cannot find the driver | Wrong side of the entrance | Message or call the driver from the ride screen. Both of you see the car and the plate |
| My flight was cancelled | We stop moving the pickup and tell the desk. Your ride is never cancelled for you | Cancel the ride under Upcoming. No fee applies before a driver accepts |
| My flight was diverted | The same: the desk is told and calls you | Ring the desk on +592 655-7775 and we will re-time or refund it |
| The fare shows City Ride | The airport was not picked from the list | Choose Cheddi Jagan International Airport from the list, not a nearby pin |
