GuyWay shares rides and zone suggestions so that the same drivers are not always the ones who get the good trips.
Who gets a ride
A ride goes to a car that can reach the rider quickly. That comes first, because a rider who waits is a rider who does not book again.
When two or more cars are about equally close (within two minutes of each other), the ride goes to the driver who has had the least work lately. The rider does not wait longer for this.
Airport and long trips
Airport and long trips go in turn among the cars that are close enough. The driver who has been offered the fewest of them today, and then this week for the hours they were online, gets the next one.
At the airport stand the queue still decides: the driver who joined the queue first is offered first.
Zone suggestions
When the app suggests a move to a busy zone or an airport and several drivers could go, the driver who has had the fewest of those suggestions lately is asked first. A driver who is only a little further away (up to three minutes) can still be asked, so the same nearby drivers are not always chosen.
Questions drivers ask
Does saying no cost me anything? No. A declined ride or suggestion counts as offered, exactly like one you accepted. You do not lose your turn for saying no, and you do not get an extra turn either. A decline is never used for a rating, a ranking, your slots, your pay or your agreements.
Does a score decide who gets a ride? No score decides who gets a ride. To take turns, the system counts what each driver has been offered and earned per hour online.
I work fewer hours. Am I at a disadvantage? No. Everything is counted per hour online, so four hours online is compared fairly with twelve.
What counts as an hour online? Only time you are online during a slot you have booked. Time online outside your booked slots is not counted, so staying on after your slot does not change your turn. If you have no booked slot, you have no hours counted yet, and you are treated as in the middle of the group: you neither gain nor lose a turn.
Why did a car further away than me get the ride? Either it was within the small margin above and its driver had had less work lately, or it was in the airport queue ahead of you, or it is a GuyWay Executive car on an airport or booked ride (below).
What is a GuyWay Executive ride? Only the black Teslas are GuyWay Executive cars. An Executive ride goes only to an Executive car, and the card says "Executive" before you accept. If you drive an Executive car you are offered airport and booked rides first when you are within five minutes of the nearest car, and an ordinary ride only when no ordinary car is free. An ordinary ride pays the ordinary fare, whichever car does it.
Can I see my own numbers? Your trips and earnings are on your monthly statement. If you think something is wrong, see Question a line on your statement.
