Do this when you want to thank the driver. A tip is never required.
Before you start. The ride must be completed and paid. A tip in the app goes to the payment method you used for the ride. A cash tip is the only cash a driver may accept.
Steps
- Open the ride under Trips, or use the prompt shown right after the ride.
- Tap Add tip.
- Choose an amount, or tap Other and type one in GYD.
- Tap Confirm.
What happens next
The tip is charged to the same method as the fare and appears on a separate line of your receipt. The whole tip is passed to the driver on the driver's statement. GuyWay takes nothing from it.
You can add a tip up to 30 days after the ride. After that the option disappears from the ride.
Note A cash tip handed to the driver does not appear on your receipt or in GuyWay's records. That is expected.
If something goes wrong
