Add money to your GuyWay credit

Top up your GuyWay credit with Pix, PayPal, a card or MMG, the amounts allowed, and what a top-up costs.

Do this to pay for rides from a balance instead of a card. Credit you buy works like a gift card; the terms set out its rules.

Before you start. Open the Account tab, then Wallet. Add money appears on the GuyWay credit card only when at least one way to add money is open. The list under Pay with shows the ways open to you.

Steps

  1. Tap Add money.
  2. Pick GYD 1,000, 2,000 or 5,000, or type an amount under Or enter an amount.
  3. Under Pay with, choose the way to pay.
  4. Tap Continue and finish with that provider, as below.
  5. Wait for the balance to update. If it takes longer than a few seconds, the screen says the money is on its way.
Way to payWhat you do
Card or Apple Pay / Card or Google PayPay in the payment sheet
MMGTap Continue to MMG and approve the payment there
PayPalTap Continue to PayPal. The screen shows the US dollar amount PayPal will charge before you leave the app
Pix (Brasil)Enter your CPF, Full name and Email, tap Get Pix code, then pay the code from your bank app

Pix

Pix is for riders paying from a Brazilian bank. Brazil requires your CPF for a payment abroad; it goes to the payment provider and GuyWay does not store it.

  • Pay by scanning the QR code from another phone, or tap Copy Pix code and paste it in your bank app under Pix, Pix Copia e Cola.
  • The amount is in Brazilian reais. Your bank adds 3.5% IOF, Brazil's tax on foreign payments.
  • The code lasts 30 minutes. When it expires, tap Get a new code.
  • The screen updates by itself once the payment arrives.
