You contact the rider through the app, never on your own number. Neither of you sees the other's phone number.
Where you find it
On the ride screen, tap Message. When calling is switched on for the ride, a Call tile sits beside it.
Elements
| Element | What it does |
|---|---|
| Quick replies | One tap sends "Two minutes away", "I'm here", "Okay" or "On my way" |
| Message the rider | Type a message and tap Send |
| Record a voice note | Up to a minute. Tap Send when you are done, or Cancel |
| Rider's messages | Shown in the chat and read aloud. A voice note from the rider plays from the chat |
| Translation | Written messages are translated live into each person's language. A translated message is marked "Translated live"; tap it to see the original first |
| Call | Calls the rider through GuyWay, when calling is switched on |
| Report a message | Sends what was said on this ride to the desk. The rider is not told |
| Block and close chat | Closes the chat for both of you for the rest of the ride and sends the desk what was said. The ride goes on, and SOS and reporting still work |
Rules that apply
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| When it opens | From the moment you accept the ride |
| When it closes | 15 minutes after the ride ends. After that, anything else goes to support@guyway.gy |
| No-show | A message or call through the app is what opens Record a no-show after the wait |
| Wording | A message whose wording is flagged is still sent, and the desk can read it |
| Lost items | After a rider reports a lost item, you can call or message them for 72 hours. See Report damage, mess or a lost item |
| No signal | A message cannot be sent without a signal. The app says so; nothing is sent |
Note never keep, copy or use a rider's details outside the app. The Driver Standards forbid it.
