Lacytown is Georgetown's shopping ward. A 1911 study of the city's street names traces it to George Lacy, of the family of General Sir George de Lacy Evans. Regent Street, long described as the city's main shopping street, runs through it, with City Mall at the Camp Street corner, and City Hall stands at the ward's edge on Regent Street at Avenue of the Republic.

Robb Street runs one way, eastbound, so a car may approach a Robb Street address from the west end only. Regent Street is lined with shops and delivery vans on weekdays: if the kerb outside your shop is blocked, set the pin on the corner of the next cross street and the driver pulls in there.
