Taxi to City Mall, Georgetown

City Mall stands on the corner of Regent and Camp Streets in Lacytown, the heart of the downtown shopping district. Regent Street, which runs past it, has long been called the city's main shopping street. It was built by businessman Lennox John, and its escalators were a novelty that drew crowds when they arrived in the 2000s. Inside are small shops, services and food outlets, including a Royal Castle on the Regent Street side.
Drop-off on Camp Street
Parking around the mall is limited, so the driver drops you at the Camp Street entrance. Right turns from Camp Street into Regent Street are not allowed, so a car heading south on Camp Street stops before the corner rather than turning in. For a pickup with shopping bags, set the pin on the Camp Street side and wait inside the door until the app shows the car is close.
What is around the corner
Stabroek Market is about 1.1 km west, about GYD 2,000. City Hall, completed in 1889, is a short walk along Regent Street at Avenue of the Republic, and Bourda Market is a few blocks east. The Marriott and the seawall hotels in Kingston are about 2.4 km, about GYD 2,000.
City Mall or Giftland?
Giftland Mall at Turkeyen is larger and more suburban, with a cinema; it is about 6.8 km east by road, about GYD 3,400. City Mall is the one to choose when you are already downtown. From City Mall, CJIA is about 41 km, about GYD 20,500, and Ogle Airport about 12 km, about GYD 5,400.
