Ride-hailing is still new to Guyana. Uber, Lyft and Bolt do not operate here. GuyWay is Guyana’s first all-electric ride network, running 24/7 across Georgetown, the East Bank to CJIA, the East Coast and Parika.
What the GuyWay taxi app does
iOS and Android apps in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Dutch. Upfront prices before you confirm. In-app SOS, live trip share and a trip PIN. Rides can be scheduled ahead, and corporate accounts run through GuyWay for Business.
Your first ride with the app
Sign in with Google, Apple, Facebook or your phone number. A foreign mobile number works, so visitors can set up before landing. Enter pickup and destination, and confirm the fare.
Common questions
Is there a ride-hailing app in Guyana?
Yes. GuyWay is live in Georgetown, on the East Bank to CJIA, the East Coast and Parika. Bartica, Linden and New Amsterdam are not served.
Do any global apps work in Guyana?
No. Uber, Lyft, Bolt, Gett and DiDi do not operate here. GuyWay takes international cards, charged in US dollars.
What makes GuyWay different from a taxi?
Upfront prices, no negotiation, an electric fleet and drivers with police clearance. A stop, destination change or toll is added at cost.
