Does Uber work at Cheddi Jagan airport?
No. At CJIA you can take one of the taxis waiting outside arrivals, or schedule a GuyWay in the app before you land: add your flight number, the driver tracks the flight, and re-timing the pickup for a late arrival is free. The driver meets you at the terminal entrance (there is only one) with their name, car and plate shown in the app; there is no GuyWay desk or counter. Airport Ride is GY$18,000 for the first 34 km, then GY$360 per km.
Can I pay by card?
Yes. GuyWay takes Visa and Mastercard (credit or debit), Apple Pay, Google Pay and MMG, all inside the app, plus any GuyWay promo credit on your account. Cash is not accepted for fares. Tips can be added in the app for up to 30 days after the ride or handed to the driver in cash. The fare is quoted in GYD and a receipt is emailed after every trip.
