GuyWay is Guyana’s first all-electric ride-hailing service — every vehicle is a Tesla (Model 3, Model Y, and a small XL SUV fleet). Operationally this matters for three specific reasons: per-vehicle operational emissions are 33–62% lower than a traditional taxi over the vehicle lifetime; maintenance events are fewer; and the ride is visibly quieter and cleaner, which shows in the guest experience. The electric choice is a climate-policy fit for Guyana’s broader Low Carbon Development Strategy.
Practical notes: all Teslas in the Georgetown fleet are charged at fleet depots overnight; range is comfortable for any Georgetown day of work plus reserves. For inter-city corridors (Linden, New Amsterdam) vehicle routing includes charging stops. Passenger experience: strong A/C, smooth ride, big trunks for luggage, USB-C charging at every seat.

Yes — the entire fleet at launch is 100% electric (Tesla Model 3, Model Y, and XL SUV). No combustion vehicles.
How is the charging infrastructure handled?
Fleet depot charging overnight in Georgetown. For inter-city routes, the dispatch plans charging stops into the ride schedule — fares are still fixed regardless.
Does the electric fare cost more than a regular taxi?
