Notifications and quiet hours

WhatsApp and app notifications, what each one means, and the quiet hours.

Updated
12 September 2026

GuyWay reaches you two ways: WhatsApp messages from the operations platform, and notifications from the GuyWay Driver app. WhatsApp carries the messages that matter when the app is closed, such as a battery recall. You agreed to WhatsApp notices when you signed up.

Where you find it

In GuyWay Driver, open Account and tap Safety and notifications. Each app notification has a switch: the sound on a ride offer, a scheduled ride about to start, a rider cancelling, the month's statement, and a reply on a line you questioned. Battery messages, a 48-hour notice and anything the safety desk sends have no switch and always reach you. The same screen shows the quiet hours.

Rules that apply

RuleDetail
Quiet hours23:00 to 05:00 Georgetown time. A non-critical WhatsApp message is held and sent at 05:00 if the car still needs it
CriticalA critical battery message is sent at any hour
Once per levelYou receive one message per car and level at most every 30 minutes
On the cablePlugging in ends a battery episode; no further message for that level
No nameMessages name the car by its code, for example GW-012, never you
Ops copyWhen no driver is assigned to a car, the message goes to ops instead of a driver
Opt-outWhatsApp notices are part of the agreements. To change your number, update it under Profile

The battery messages read, for example: "GuyWay: GW-012 is at 24% with about 100 km left. Finish this ride, then return to GuyWay yard, Providence to charge." and "GuyWay: GW-012 is at 14% with about 57 km left. Do not take new rides. Return to GuyWay yard, Providence now."

Note WhatsApp messages come from the GuyWay business number. Replies to that number reach the team, but for anything urgent call +592 655-7775.
