Do this when the person travelling does not have the app, or when you want to pay for their ride.
Before you start. You need the person's name and mobile number. The number is used to send them the driver's details and the pickup PIN. The fare is charged to your payment method.
Steps
- Open the app and tap Where to?.
- Enter the pickup and the destination for the person travelling.
- Tap the rider name at the top of the booking screen and choose Someone else.
- Enter the Name and the Mobile number of the person travelling. Foreign numbers work.
- Read the fare and pick the payment method. It is yours, not theirs.
- Tap Confirm ride, or Schedule for a later time.
What happens next
The person travelling receives the driver's name, the car, the plate and the pickup PIN on the number you entered. The driver's app shows their name, not yours. You follow the ride live on your own screen and can call or message the driver.
The receipt comes to your email. The rating after the ride is yours to give.
Note The person travelling must give the pickup PIN to the driver. Make sure they have their phone with them. Check with GuyWay operations for the exact message the person receives.
If something goes wrong
