The Qatar Seafront Resort is a planned destination hotel on the Georgetown coastline, still in the pipeline and not yet open. A resort of this scale will bring a different profile of guest to the capital: leisure travellers and conference delegates alongside the oil-and-gas visitors who fill the existing hotels.
The corridor it sits on is one GuyWay serves today. The seawall promenade, Kingston and the Marriott are minutes away; Stabroek Market is a short City Ride; Ogle Airport, where the Kaieteur Falls flights leave, is about 15 minutes east along the East Coast road; CJIA is 41 km out along the East Bank, 45–55 minutes off-peak on the Airport Ride card. Every ride is an all-electric Tesla, the fare is fixed in the app before you confirm, and a pickup can be scheduled days ahead, then edited or cancelled in the app if plans change. Visitors can sign up with a foreign mobile number before they land, and a CJIA pickup booked with a flight number follows the flight, with no charge to re-time it for a late arrival. When the resort opens, its entrance simply becomes another pickup point on a stretch of road we already drive every day.

Frequently asked
When does the Qatar Seafront Resort open?
No opening date has been published. It is one of several waterfront hotel projects in Georgetown’s pipeline, and this page will be updated once the hotel confirms a date.
Will GuyWay handle resort-to-Kaieteur Falls transfers?
Kaieteur Falls day tours fly from Ogle (Eugene F. Correia) Airport on the East Coast road, about 15 minutes from the seafront. GuyWay runs that transfer today on the City Ride card; schedule the pickup in the app the night before, or days ahead, so the driver is outside for an early check-in; the booking can be edited in the app if the tour moves.
How much is the ride from the seafront to CJIA?
About GY$20,500 on the Airport Ride rate card, fixed in the app before you confirm. No surge, no haggling. The only additions are a stop or destination change you ask for, or a toll or bridge fee, added at cost.
Is the resort close to the seawall?
By name and design, yes. It is planned for the Georgetown seafront, within walking distance of the seawall promenade. Until it opens, the nearest pickups GuyWay makes on this stretch are the seawall bandstand, the Marriott and the Kingston hotels.
