Linden is Guyana’s second-largest town, a bauxite centre on the Demerara River about 115 km south of Georgetown. The road is the East Bank Highway to Soesdyke, then the Soesdyke–Linden Highway: a long, straight, paved stretch with few settlements, limited fuel stops and no charging along the way. Allow 1h 45m to 2h 10m each way, more in heavy rain.

Today the Linden run is done by hire cars and minibuses from the Georgetown parks near Stabroek Market; most people heading that way are contractors bound for interior camps, families on long weekends and the diaspora home for events.
