Giftland Mall at Turkeyen is Guyana’s largest shopping mall. It sits on the Railway Embankment Road on the East Coast, next to the University of Guyana campus, with a multi-screen cinema, a food court that draws the whole East Coast on weekends, and a large supermarket. Weekend afternoons are the peak. From Saturday lunch through Sunday evening the parking is full, and the Embankment sometimes backs up. GuyWay drivers drop at the main entrance rather than circle for a lot. The CJIA → Giftland route runs about 40 km down the East Bank Highway and across to the East Coast, 45–55 minutes off-peak. It is a little shorter than the run into downtown, and a practical stop for arrivals who want dinner before hotel check-in.
